Put away the clipboard. Read meters on a phone.

Your meter readers open their route on any phone, read each meter in order, and the readings land in the office automatically. No signal at the edge of town? Readings are kept on the phone and sent when it's back in range.

  • Works on the phones you already have
  • Keeps working without signal
  • Live map for the office
Routes

Routes built for you, in an order that makes sense on the road.

Build routes automatically from meter locations, import the ones you already use, or draw them by hand. WaterWorksPro can work out a road-based reading order, and you preview it before saving.

  • Assign a reader to each route for the month
  • Each route shows meters read, meters that couldn't be read, and percent done
In the field

Read, flag and move on.

The reader sees the next meter, enters the reading, and moves on. A meter that can't be read gets a reason, so the office knows why. Readings save to the phone first, so a dead zone never loses work.

  • Directions to the next meter in the phone's maps app
  • "Couldn't read" with a reason instead of a blank
  • Automatic sync when the phone is back online
In the office

Watch the route fill in, and catch odd reads before billing.

The Field Reading Map shows every meter colored by status: read, unread, couldn't read, high or zero. Follow a reader live, or review the readings once the route is done. Readings that look unusual are flagged for a person to check before bills go out.

Questions

Field app questions, answered.

Do we need special handhelds?

No. The field app runs in the web browser on ordinary phones, and readers can add it to their home screen like an app.

What if there's no cell signal?

Readings are saved on the phone and sent automatically when it's back in range. The office sees them as soon as they sync.

We have smart meters on part of town. Do we still need this?

If your utility reads meters by hand, yes. If you're on AMI, readings come in automatically instead. See smart meters & leak alerts.

Walk a route in the demo.

The demo's meter-reader path opens a route, takes readings and shows the office side.
